Birthplace of Sampiero Corso, an important historical figure of the 16th century in Corsica, today Bastelica is famous for its delicious delicatessen.
Located about forty kilometers from Ajaccio and mostly surrounded by chestnut groves, Bastelica is the highest village in the Prunelli Valley.
Many hikes are possible such as the Pozzi. The ski resort of the mountainous plateau of Ese, just 20 minutes from Bastelica, attracts a lot of people in winter.
