Sartène

Nicknamed the most Corsican of Corsican towns by Prosper Mérimée, over the years, Sartene has kept its authenticity with its large granite houses, and its traditions such as: The impressive procession of Catenacciu, with an unforgettable atmosphere, on Good Friday. Sartene is a picturesque town, especially through its alleys paved with gray granite, its ramparts and its Genoese tower.
Still in the city center, don't miss the Echauguette, the Place de la Liberation and the fascinating Corsican Prehistory Museum. Sartene is close to very beautiful beaches and is a 10-minute drive from the archaeological site of Cauria, and a quarter-hour drive from the mythical lion of Roccapina.
