Cervione

Located at the entrance to the Castagniccia region, Cervione overlooks the Eastern Coast. Its nickname is "balcony on the sea".
Besides its fabulous panoramas, the history of Cervione is very rich. The village was first a Roman summer residence, then the residence of the bishops of Aleria from 1578 until the French Revolution.
Today, Cervione also attracts many visitors for its heritage; with the convent built in the 16th century, the Saint-Erasme cathedral, which is one of the first baroque churches in Corsica and the chapel of the Madonna di a Scupiccia, and its statuette symbolizing the virgin carved in white marble in Florence, in the 16th century.
