During your stay in Corsica, you'd like to share a moment of fervor and conviviality by attending a traditional Corsican celebration?
Discover the feast of Saint Erasmus organized everywhere in the Corsican ports at the beginning of June!

Everywhere in Corsica

Each year, at the beginning of June, the various fishermen's associations created all over Corsica celebrate Saint Erasmus, patron saint of sailors and fishermen.
During these few days of festivities, the associations offer various activities such as concerts and tastings of seafood such as mussels and grilled fish just extracted from the nets.

Attracted by the festive side and the friendly atmosphere of Saint Erasmus, many visitors go to the ports and the streets of several cities.
In addition, the Saint Erasmus takes on a more sacred aspect during the processions organized in the various cities of Corsica.

The brotherhoods of fishermen and the faithful join the crowd with fervor and veneration to bring the statues of the Saint to the port.
Then follows a blessing from the boats, from the sea as well as a throwing of wreaths of flowers on the occasion of the pilgrimage at sea.

In Ajaccio, the association in charge of organizing Saint Erasmus festivities is called 'I Pescadori in Festa'.
