In Morosaglia

It is in his native Castagniccia and more precisely in the village of Morosaglia that is the birthplace of Pascal Paoli, one of the emblematic figures of Corsica.
Labeled 'Maison des Illustres', Pascal Paoli's birthplace now houses the territorial museum of the same name.

Through the four rooms of the Pascal Paoli museum, visitors can discover personal items such as a chest, a liquor cellar or table service. Do not miss also, documents, letters, weapons but also various busts and paintings in the likeness of the one who is nicknamed 'the father of the fatherland'.
To these various objects is added the funeral chapel preserving the ashes of Pascal Paoli, repatriated from London and from Westminster Cathedral at the end of the 19th century.

Note that when it opened, the main objective of the Pascal Paoli museum was to preserve the appearance of an 18th century notable's house, containing furniture and souvenirs from the Paoli family.
Today, it also presents the history of Corsica abd of the government created by Pascal Paoli, the university he had created as well as the currency he had set up at the time.
