In Castellare di Casinca

The Casinca fair, also called San Branca, is one of the oldest traditional Corsican fairs.
Organized each year during the first fortnight of May in the village of Castellare di Casinca its main theme is agro-pastoralism and offers an alliance of crafts, northern gastronomy, entertainment, carnival and religious celebrations.

To the delight of an intergenerational audience who regularly attend the Casinca fair, demonstrations of mowing, care and handling are offered, as well as contests of Corsican rams and maneuverability on horseback.
Note that the sale of equines, animal presentations and the market for farm products also lead to a high attendance at the Casinca fair which is sometimes seen as a preamble to the summer season.

To complete this fair, entertainment is provided by traditional amateur songs, dances and improvisation theater in the Corsican language.
In short, the Casinca fair offers its visitors coming from the Grand Bastia region and all over Corsica the opportunity to share moments of reunion and exchange, with family or friends, in a very friendly atmosphere.
