Grading is done in ‘épis’ (ears of corn), ranging from basic comfort (1épi) to luxury (5 épis). For more detailed information about the specific requirements for each grade, we recommend you look at the ‘Gîtes de France® grading system’ page.

Please note that you should bring your own sheets and towels, unless advised otherwise in the gite description. For the sake of convenience, where bed linen and towels are not included in rental or if you prefer to travel light, many owners offer bed linen and/or towel rental for an additional fee. 

In the case of B&Bs, bed linen, towels, cleaning and breakfasts are all included in the price per night.
What are the differences between a B&B and a gite in Corsica?
The main difference is the type of accommodation. A B&B offers private rooms within the owner’s home where meals are often shared. A gite, on the other hand, is a self-catering, independent property, offering total autonomy with an equipped kitchen. Both options are available via Gîtes de France® Corsica.
What are speciality dishes of Corsica?
Corsican food is renowned for its rich, traditional flavours. Among the essentials not to be missed are Corsican charcuterie like prisuttu (dry-cured ham), lonzu (lean pork loin) and coppa. Cheeses, like brocciu, also play an important part. Traditional dishes include Corsican soup, pulenda (a pancake made using chestnut flour), and the famous civet de sanglier (wild boar stew).
