Do you dream of going on vacation in Corsica to take wonderful mountain walks? Take a look at the hiking trails in the Corte and Center-Corse region!

RESTONICA VALLEY

Start from the shepherds’ huts of Grotelle and take the footpath along the Restonica valley.
The yellow and grey markings guide you up to the Melo lake at an altitude of 1,711 meters above sea level!  Another lake, Capitello, awaits you even higher at 1,930 metres...

The lake is frozen 8 months out of 12. The return to the Grotelle is by the same way down. This walk is not advisable for children and requires hill walking equipment (good boots).

CASTAGNICCIA

Castagniccia is full of groves of giant chestnut trees and dotted with delightful small villages stretching along the hilltops.

Leave Folelli, take the D46. Pass by the OREZZA springs, a former spa now bottling naturally carbonated water.
Once in Piedicroce (XVII^th century church), take the D71 to CARCHETO (Sainte Marguerite Church, ruins of the X^th century chapel of SAN MARTINU, waterfall).
Continue to VALLE D'ALESANI, before reaching PRUNETE.
