Easy Hikes to Enjoy in Corsica in Autumn

What better season than autumn to discover Corsican nature at your own pace and in peace?
At Gîtes de France Corse, we invite you to experience the Island of Beauty your way, with our selection of easy hikes to do in Corsica during autumn!
All across the island, you’ll be able to admire varied landscapes: along the coast on a customs trail, in the mountains, or by a river—you’ll love it!

1. Cascade des Anglais – Vizzavona

📍 Central Corsica | ⏱ 1h30 round trip | Easy | Forest & waterfall

Nestled in the Vizzavona Forest, this trail follows a portion of the legendary GR20—but without the challenges of the famous trek.
The path winds between laricio pines and along a crystal-clear river leading to a series of waterfalls and refreshing pools: the famous Cascades des Anglais. Here you can pause to recharge, or even dip your feet in the water.

In autumn, the trail is calm, the forest glows with golden, yellow, and orange tones, and the lively waters put on a spectacular show.
Perfect for a family outing or a picnic in nature.

2. The Customs Trail – Cap Corse

A Cap Corse classic, but still magical every time. This coastal path runs along the northern tip of the cape, between turquoise waters, cliffs, and secret little coves.
In autumn, the trail feels different: quieter, rawer, more authentic.

You can focus on the easy section between Macinaggio and Barcaggio, well-marked and with little elevation gain. Along the way, you’ll see Genoese towers, deserted beaches, and sometimes… free-roaming cows right on the path!

3. The Pozzi of Renoso – Bastelica

📍 Central-Southern Corsica | ⏱ 2h30 round trip | Easy | Peat bogs & pristine nature

Famous for their uniqueness, the pozzi are small water basins nestled in high-altitude meadows, surrounded by natural canals. They can be reached by a gentle climb from the Verde Pass or the Ese Plateau.

The scenery is unlike anything else, especially in autumn, when the grasses take on golden and orange hues. Without any major difficulty, this hike is as surprising as it is breathtaking.

4. Lake Creno – Soccia

📍 Western Corsica | ⏱ 2h round trip | Easy | Lake & enchanted forest

Accessible to everyone, Lake Creno is one of the few mountain lakes bordered by laricio pines.
From the village of Soccia, above Sagone, the trail climbs gently.
At the top: a calm mirror of water, sometimes shrouded in mist, bordered by water lilies and trees in autumn colors.

A hike for all ages, with a true reward at the end: a moment of peace and contemplation.

5. Bonifatu Forest – Calvi

📍 Balagne | ⏱ 1 to 3h depending on loop | Easy to moderate | Rivers & Genoese bridges

Just half an hour from Calvi, the Bonifatu Forest is a little paradise for both casual walkers and seasoned hikers.
Several trails start from the main parking lot: some long, others short and accessible—perfect for an autumn stroll.

Here you’ll find a clear river, old Genoese bridges, dense vegetation, and panoramic mountain views.
And even in autumn, if the sun is shining, you might still dip your feet into the natural pools.

A Variety of Hikes

Far from the clichés of Corsica in summer with its paradise beaches, autumn reveals a more intimate, softer, yet equally grand island.
These easy hikes will let you soak in this unique atmosphere—between sea, mountains, and golden forests.

So, lace up your walking shoes, pack a small bag, and set out to discover a different—but just as beautiful—Corsica.
